Pockets Full of Books: Fiction vs. Non-Fiction
This recipe I found and have modified off of a teacher's website: (http://www.ladybugsteacherfiles.com/2012/07/cheap-chair-pockets.html). Each student has their own reading pockets attached to their chair equipped with a reading log book. One pocket is designated for a fiction book and one pocket is designated for a non-fiction book. Each week students fill their pouches with a minimum of 2 books each which they will read during independent reading time for the week.
During individual reading conferences with teacher, students will bring reading pocket and conference on the different books they have read in the last week.
