Writer's Check Lists
This recipe I found and have modified while doing my internship in Christopher Snow's grade 3/4 classroom (September- December 2012). At the beginning of the year during our first portion of writer's workshop, we discuss different forms of writing (i.e., posters, comics, pamphlets etc.). Upon introducing a new form of writing the class develops a list of criteria that reflect the writing form. These different criteria’s are posted throughout the classroom. During the writing portion of writer's workshop students are allowed to pick a writing form they wish to explore and then use the criteria to check and edit their work.
